Mike is married with 4 children and 5 grandchildren. He moved to Green Bay from Madison in 1992. He grew up in Freeport Illinois, and began playing professionaly at the age of 13 with the band, The NOBLEMENN. Mike started private piano lessons at age 5 and thanks his Mother for making him stick with it and practice, practice and practice more!
Mike toured the South and Eastern United States in the 1970's with the Rock & Roll band "HOME MADE JAM". He also played with "ROLLED OATS", a Country-Rock band and performed at the largest Miflin Street block party in Madison in 1973. He has been a part of the "Music Scene" in Milwaukee, Madison, Door County and Green Bay. Since moving to Green Bay, he has performed with the BREWMEISTERS, ECHO CANYON, NEW SOUL EXPERIENCE, TRIPP DEXTER, FULL CIRCLE, COLDTRAIN, LET ME BE FRANK Productiuons and BENNY & THE JETS. He also fills in with touring bands, and recently performed with the world famous CASINO BROTHERS from Toronto, Canada.
He is currently performing regularly as a SOLO ARTIST, and with COLDTRAIN, and COLDTRAIN JAZZ DUO. 
Mike's teaching style is based on strong fundamentals of Music Theory, precise attention to timing and cluster note reading. He has a positive teaching style, and encourages each student to select music to work on along with the methodology lesson books.
He also teaches improvisation and song writing and arranging. Many of his current and former students also teach piano in their neighborhoods. Mike coaches those students in the structure and organization needed to teach effectively.
Mike teaches students of all ages and experience levels, from beginners to advanced and performing professionals. His current student roster ranges in age from 4 to 77.
